Weight Loss: Fat Burning in 7 Steps
02.28.08 (11:41 am)   [edit]

Weight Loss and inch loss will result if you take to heart these 7 fat burning steps. Everybody has to figure out what is the best excercise method for them. Personally living on a farm out in the sticks my methods might not be like yours but you can adapt it to what ever your situation is

Step 1: Add Weight

Not by eating more... we mean litterly as weight to your work out!  Add some weights when you walk, it's amazing what that will do to burn up calories. I personally use 5 lb weights now, but I started with 2 1/2 pounders.  I probably look like an idoit walking down the dirt road waving my arms high above my head and twisting from side to side. It increases my workout intensity while building and toning muscle. More bang for the time you spend keeping fit.

Step 2: Intensity Burst Training

The absolute best way to burn more fat and calories is by working out at a higher intensity right? Try some intensity  where you do short burst of maximum intensity and back to easy or medium intensity than repeat. 10 to 20 minutes works for me, generally to the highway and back about mile.

Step 3: Keep Good Posture

For me it's carrying all the animals home who get tired half way. We tend to slump when carrying things. On excercise equipment the handles bars are only there for balance so use them only for that and not when things get hard. Keep you head up no matter how tired you get.

Step 4: Variety Is Everything

Doing the same workout every time you excercise will force your body to adapt that will have you burning less calories and making no gains. Mix up the types of excercise you do from walking to jogging, biking, swimming, etc. just keep adding variety.

Step 5: Up your  ; Heart Rate Excercise Last

I am not saying that doing cardio after you workout is the best but it does has its advantages like decreasing muscle soreness after a workout, targets more fat cells. Remember, the best time to do cardio is when you feel the best most importantly just do it.

Step 6: Breath Through Your Nose

Inhaling and exhaling through your nose, rather than your mouth, helps stabilize your heart rate and (like the pre-workout snack) increase your endurance. The result? You work out longer and burn more calories. But don’t get discouraged if it feels unnatural at first — it takes about six to eight workouts to get in the habit.

Step 7: Pre-meal Snack for Weight Loss

Eating a low-carbohydrate protein bar 90 minutes before you work out will enable you to exercise longer and harder (and burn more calories) than you normally would. However, that 90-minute mark is crucial. Eat any closer to your workout, and blood will rush to your stomach, actually diminishing your performance.

Bottom line if you aren't excercising while loosing weight it will take longer to see results. The weight loss program that really pulls off the inches can be found at Weight Loss Inch Loss Website . Oh yea it's a cool designed site too!

Weight Loss: Fitness for Couch Potatoes
02.03.08 (8:46 am)   [edit]

Since more people will be plopped in front of the TV today more than any other day this year, I thought it would be fitting to post about weight loss and fitness for couch potatoes. At the grocery store early yesterday morning they were gearing up for one of their busiest days of the year. We sure are creatures of habit aren't we...

Yes even people who love TV can loose weight and stay fit, without it cutting into precious television time. Even fitness experts find TV-watching workouts helpful -- and sometimes, a necessity. It's all a matter of setting up your TV room up for fitness and excercise. Who says you have to lay on the couch to watch TV! i personally have an excercise matt weights stored in our TV room. Really they type of excercise you do doesn't really matter the key is you do something to get the  body moving and blood circulating.

Kinesiologist Shari Feuz, an exercise advisor with the International Council on Active Aging in Vancouver, says  this approach can work well -- as long as you're working hard enough to feel it.

"It is absolutely possible to improve your fitness level in front of the TV, if the intensity is adequate, just as it is quite possible to go to a fitness center several times per week and NOT improve your fitness level," Feuz says. Given how much TV most of us watch, exercising at the same time is not a bad idea. Studies show that American men average 29 hours a week of TV watching, while women rack up about 34 hours. That gives us a lot of time to fit in some extra activity.

"This is multitasking at its best," says Mare Petras, author of Fitness Simply, which includes a chapter titled "Here's Oprah," dedicated to fitness in front of the TV.

"We're an all-or-nothing society," says Petras. "We think that if we can't exercise for an hour at a time, that it doesn't count. But that's not true. It doesn't have to be 'black or white' with fitness. It all adds up."

Don't touch that Dial

In fact, if you're not ready to risk losing track of the plot of that fast-moving drama by doing a full-blown workout, you can fit in fitness breaks during the commercials. This can be an especially good option for beginners.

Linda Buch, author of The Commercial Break Workout, points out that a 30-minute sitcom has about 10 minutes' worth of commercials. Instead of using this time to reach for a handful of cookies or chips, get moving!

Among Buch's suggestions:

  • Pushups. If floor pushups are too difficult for you, start off by standing up with your hands on the wall, then pushing back. Do this 10 times; increase the reps as the exercise gets easier.
  • Chair squats. Stand up, sit down, then stand right back up (for even more of a workout, don't sit down all the way). Do this for the length of one commercial. As it gets easier, do it again for the next commercial.
  • Marching in place. Move both your arms and legs; add jumping jacks to increase the intensity.

"Little bits of exercise like these strung together add up to energy expended," says Buch.

It's a well known fact the a good excercise program can be a major factor in weight loss, but also think about the food you are giving your body. Loosing weight is a lifestyle change... that goes for both excercise and what you eat. It takes 21 days to make a habit. The Barefoot Weight Loss Program will help you get into that habit and loose the fat but not the muscle.

My question for you is what will you be snacking on during the super bowel today?  Check out our healthy snack's at Barefoot Weight Loss Snack Bars

Weight Loss: Health and Wealth and Why it makes sense to Loose Weight
02.01.08 (10:05 pm)   [edit]

I don't get out much but when I do I see more and more people who could benefit greatly by loosing some weight. I don't say this to judge others I just know deep down how much happier and healthier they would be if they joined in on the Weight Loss movement.

If you think about it, so many people come online looking for weatlh and happieness. The internet is an excellent place to develop relationships and earn a great income too. I aspect of the internet I don't see making a huge impact is in health. I've met so many people online that have bad health. The largest determining factor in our health is diet and excercise, something I know I have the tools, products and motivation to help people succeed in weight loss.

I'm not your typical person who can say been there done that, because I've never had a weight loss problem. In fact my healther conserns have been the other way, not weighing enough. But the way I can relate to weight loss and getting healthy is through excercise. I'm a full time internet marketer, trainer and marketing strategies coach. My business isn't phyiscal at all, I love what I do and could work 20 hours a day. The fact is I DON'T do that because my health would suffer big time.

Many times the largest factor in weight loss isn't just eating the right stuff in smaller portions, it's changing your body metabolism through healthy excercise. The mind plays a huge roll in weight loss also. This is something I deal with everyday is mindset. To do what I do online you must have a strong why. If your reason for weight loss isn't strong enough it won't happen, just like building a business the why is a huge factor when it comes to succeeding online.

What you put in your mouth does make a difference in weight loss. Take a look at a weight loss program that has helped people loose inches and fat but not the much need muscle to maintain a healthy physique.

Weight Loss Facts
02.01.08 (9:54 pm)   [edit]

With all the talk about a fat epidemic and obesity problems in the United States, it's difficult to really know the facts about weight loss, diets, what works, what doesn't work, and why losing weight is so difficult.

Consider these weight loss facts:

FACT #1:  An estimated 50 million Americans will go on a diet this year.

FACT #2:  While some will succeed in taking off weight, very few – perhaps 5% – will manage to keep all of it off in the long run.

FACT #3:  The primary reason for the low weight loss success rate is that many people look for quick and easy solutions to their weight problems.

FACT #4:  Americans spend an estimated $30 billion a year on all types of diet programs and products, including diet foods and drinks.

FACT #5:  Even though there are  increased health risks associated with being overweight or obese, losing weight can help you significantly reduce these risks.

FACT #6:  Weight loss cannot and will not happen effortlessly. Any claims that you can lose weight effortlessly is false.

FACT #7:  All successful and proven weight loss programs are focused on reducing the number of calories you eat or  increasing the number of calories you burn off (increasing your metabolism) through exercise. Most experts, if not all, recommend a combination of both.

FACT #8:  Very low-calorie diets are not without risk and should be pursued only under medical supervision. Un-supervised, very low-calorie diets can deprive you of important nutrients and are potentially dangerous.

FACT #9:  Fad diets rarely have any permanent effect. Sudden and radical changes in your eating patterns are difficult to sustain over time.

FACT #10:  So called “crash diets” often send dieters into a cycle of quick weight loss, followed by a “rebound” weight gain once normal eating resumes, with even more difficulty reducing when the next diet is attempted.

FACT #11:  To lose weight safely, and keep it off, requires long-term changes in daily eating and exercise habits.

FACT #12:  Science has yet to come up with a low-risk “magic bullet” for weight loss.

FACT #13:  Diet patches, which are worn on the skin, have not been proven to be effective or to be safe. The FDA has seized millions of these products from manufacturers and promoters.

FACT #14:  “Fat blockers” that purport to physically absorb fat and mechanically interfere with the fat a person eats has not proven to be effective and can have dangerous side effects.

FACT #15:  “Starch blockers” that promise to block or impede starch digestion has not been proven and users have complained of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and stomach pains.

FACT #16:  The FTC has brought legal action against several marketers of “Magnet” diet pills that allegedly “flush fat out of the body.”

With so many people on diets, and knowledge of the weight loss facts  listed above, why are we still getting fatter?

Dr. Billie-Hamilton, a world renowned expert in Human Metabolism, writes in her book titled, "The Body Restoration Plan" the following facts about weight loss:

  • Adults are getting heavier as they get older - Current estimates suggest that the average woman gains approximately one pound each year and the average man gains one-half pound each year.
  • Our body shape is changing – this has been so dramatic that the standard clothing sizes used for the last 50 years has been scrapped and completely revamped.
  • Dieting alone simply does not work! – if the traditional dieting methods really worked, the fat epidemic should have been stamped out long ago. Granted, in the short term, many people do lose weight by sticking to a particular diet or regime. But the overwhelming evidence is that they will regain all the weight lost, and then some more, as soon as they return to “normal life.”
  • Public health enemy # 1 – it is not just our appearance that is at stake. Life threatening illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer and strokes are all closely linked to being overweight, and their incidences are all on the increase. Research has also shown that people whose weight “yo-yos” from one extreme to the other can have up to double the death rate from all forms of illness (particularly diabetes and heart disease) compared to that those whose weight remains stable. The government is now being forced to become more involved with these issues, treating the fat epidemic as a national health problem as well as a personal challenge for millions of people.
  • The fat epidemic is a very recent phenomenon – If millions have been eating less and exercising more, why has the fat epidemic increased almost exponentially? Why are we getting fatter? Dr. Paula Billie-Hamilton’s book outlines the scientifically researched subject with answers that are profound and eye-opening. To understand this issue, she scientifically analyzes the brief history of dieting and solves the greatest 21st century mystery related to these questions.
  • There is a common sense approach to weight management that is scientifically proven to work and is available to you. Whether you just need to lose a few pounds or you are classified as obese, you can achieve your goal of a healthy life by following the system as laid out by the Barefoot Weight Loss & Inch Loss Program.

Still unsure if there is a fat epidemic or obesity problem in the U.S.? Consider these weight loss facts about Americans' weight:

FACT #1:  60% of Americans are now classified as overweight or obese.

FACT #2:  Obesity is linked to many chronic illnesses, including heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke and diabetes.

FACT #3:  Obesity is also linked to many forms of cancer such as post-menopausal breast cancer, colon cancer, endometrial cancer, prostate cancer, and kidney cancer according to researchers at the American Institute for Cancer Research.

FACT #4:  William Dietz, the director of nutrition at the Center of Disease Control said in 1999, “This is an epidemic in the U.S., the likes of which we have not had before in chronic disease.”

FACT #5:  James Hill, Dean of American obesity studies at the University of Colorado has said that if the fat epidemic is not checked, most Americans will be overweight within a few generations.

FACT #6:  Obesity is now an epidemic, with the percentage of obese Americans increasing by 61% from 1991 to 2000 alone.

FACT #7:  Tommy Thompson, Secretary of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, has stated that nearly 2 out of 3 American adults and 15% of children are overweight or obese. Minorities are faring worse than the overall population.

FACT #8:  At least 17 million Americans, or 1 out of every 20 people, have Type 2 diabetes. Another 16 million more have pre-diabetes. Type 2 Diabetes was once a disease of adults 40 and older. Now it is found in children as young as 8.

FACT #9:  Poor nutrition, overweight, and inactivity cause at least 1/3 of all cancers.

FACT #10:  Obesity aggravates hypertension, which contributes to the #1 cause of death in the U.S. – heart disease.

FACT #11:  The CDC has reported that obese and overweight women face significantly increased risks of having babies with birth defects.

FACT #12:  According to the CDC, excess weight and physical inactivity account for more than 300,000 premature deaths each year in the U.S., second only to deaths related to smoking.

FACT #13:  Rena Wing, Ph.D., a professor of psychiatry at Brown Medical School in Providence, R.I. Wing, the co-developer of a research study known as the National Weight Control Registry, reports that more than 70 percent of the registry's weight losers became overweight before age 18.

FACT #14:  The total direct and indirect costs attributed to overweight and obesity amounted to $117 billion in 2000, according to the Food and Drug Administration.

FACT #15:  Since 1980 obesity among adults has doubled and overweight among children has tripled.

FACT #16:  Only 3% of all Americans meet at least four of the five federal Food Guide Pyramid recommendations for the intake of grains, fruits, vegetables, dairy products, and meats.

FACT #17:  Less than 1/3 of Americans meet the federal recommendations to engage in at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity at least 5 days a week.

FACT #18:  40% of adults engage in no leisure-time physical activity at all.
